High Blood Pressure and Hypertension
What is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Arteries carry blood throughout the body. Your blood pressure may go up or down throughout the day. When your blood pressure consistently rises above the normal range, you can be diagnosed with “high blood pressure” or hypertension.
You can do things to manage or prevent high blood pressure by making lifestyle choices (such as quitting smoking, weight management, and healthy nutrition), taking medication, and knowing your numbers.
