How Do I Contact Member Services?

To contact Member Services, call 1-800-953-8854. We are open Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm.

How Long Does It Take A New Member To Receive An ID Card?

We will send you an ID card and a package of information within ten days of receiving your enrollment information. You should use your 11-digit Medical Assistance number (which is on the red and white card) to continue care until your Maryland Physicians Care ID card arrives.

How Do I Find Out What Services Are Covered?

Preventive care and services that are medically necessary are covered. Your primary care provider or an approved Maryland Physicians Care specialist will coordinate these services. See the Member Handbook or call Member Services at 1-800-953-8854 for more information.

Is There A Co-pay For Medications?

Beginning May 1, 2024, Maryland Medicaid will require all HealthChoice program MCO health plans to start charging prescription copayments. This change will apply to MPC members aged 21 and over and excludes pregnant women, people of Native American Indian heritage, and family planning medications. The copays will be $3 for non-preferred /brand medications and $1 for preferred/generic. Maintenance medications that are on the MPC 90-day supply list will also be $1 for preferred/generic and $3 for non-preferred/brand medications. Do Members Need Referrals From Their Primary Care Providers (PCPS) For Well-Woman Checkups?

No. Members may see their gynecologists for well-woman visits without a referral.

How Do I See A Specialist?

First, see your primary care provider (PCP). If your PCP determines you need to see a specialist, he or she will make the referral.

How Do I Replace A Lost ID Card?
  • Call Maryland Physicians Care Member Services at 1-800-953-8854. We will verify your name, mailing address, date of birth, phone number, and current doctor before issuing a new ID card.
  • Access the My MPC Source secure portal to:
    • Request a new ID card
    • Use your virtual ID card
    • Print your ID card.

What If I Want To Change To A Doctor Closer To Home?

Maryland Physicians Care provides members with other doctors’ names within their area or ZIP code. In most cases, this change will be effective the same day you tell Maryland Physicians Care that you want to change doctors.
