Maryland Physicians Care Champions Digital Inclusion with Recite Me Assistive Toolbar

Maryland Physicians Care (MPC) is taking a significant step forward in its commitment to health equity and digital inclusion by making its website fully accessible with the Recite Me Assistive Toolbar. This addition ensures that every website visitor, regardless of their needs, can browse, engage with, and access online content without barriers.
“Access to health information is a key part of health equity,” said Charles Buseck, MPC Chief Operating Officer.“By removing digital barriers and making our website more accessible, we’re helping ensure every member has the opportunity to find the information and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health.”
With an estimated 1 in 4 people facing challenges online due to disabilities, learning differences, visual impairments, or language barriers, accessibility is no longer optional; it’s essential.
The Recite Me toolbar includes:
- Screen Reading Support: Assists visitors with visual impairments or cognitive differences.
- Reading Aids: Improve focus, comprehension, and retention.
- Customizable Styling: Users can adjust fonts, colors, and layouts to their preferences.
- Translation & Text-to-Speech: On-demand translation into over 100 languages, along with 65 text-to-speech voices, ensures that non-native English speakers can fully engage with content.
By implementing the Recite Me toolbar, MPC is providing equal access to information for all of its members and website visitors, helping to create a truly inclusive digital experience and supporting health equity.
