If you are pregnant, you can get free health care regardless of your immigration status.
With the Healthy Babies Equality Act, pregnant individuals living in Maryland can have Medicaid health coverage with any immigration status.
Qualified individuals will be covered for pregnancy services up to four months after their baby is born. Medicaid may also help pay for health care received three months prior.
Pregnancy services can include:
- Doctor Visits
- Dental Care
- Hospital Care
- Hospital Stay When You Have Your Baby
- Lab Work and Tests
- Prescription Drugs
- Mental Health Care
- Help to Stop Smoking, Drinking Alcohol, or Using Drugs
- Rides to and from Medical Care
To be eligible, you must:
- Live in Maryland, with any immigration status, including Resident, TPS, DACA, DAPA, Refugee, Asylee, or without any status
- Be pregnant
- Meet income limits

Guidance With Breastfeeding
Claim your unique sign-up code at pacify.com/maryland-physicianscare and download the app to talk to a lactation consultant or nurse. There is no appointment required and you can call as often as needed. You can also use the app to call the MPC Care Management Team from 8 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday. Bilingual help is available.
After your baby is four months old, continue Medicaid coverage through MPC by enrolling them online at MarylandHealthConnection.gov or visiting a local connector entity, health department or Department of Social Services. Emotional and Physical Support from a Doula
A trained professional who makes prenatal visits (often in your home) to discuss birth procedures and breastfeeding, attends your labor and delivery, and makes postpartum visits. Call Customer Service for more information.

Need A Breast Pump?
Please contact your OB or delivering physician to request a breast pump. Your provider should contact a durable medical equipment (DME) company to order one for you to be delivered to your house. Please ensure your provider has the correct address on file for you at this time.
