Maryland Physicians Care Supports $2 Million Investment in Western Maryland Community Organizations

Maryland Physicians Care (MPC), in partnership with UPMC Western Maryland, is supporting a $2 million investment in 11 community organizations across Western Maryland, reinforcing a shared commitment to improving health, stability, and opportunity in the region.
The funding reflects MPC’s ongoing dedication to strengthening the communities it serves through Maryland’s Medicaid program. As a HealthChoice managed care organization, MPC works closely with its owner hospitals, including UPMC Western Maryland, to address social, economic, and health-related needs that affect overall well-being.
The organizations selected for funding were chosen based on their longstanding collaboration with UPMC Western Maryland and their demonstrated impact on individuals and families throughout the region.
“As the largest Medicaid managed care organization in Allegany County, MPC has a long-standing and deep history with the Allegany County community. We understand the varied needs of the community, from food insecurity and housing insecurity to the need to train local talent and fill vitally needed health care jobs,” said Jason Rottman, CEO, Maryland Physicians Care. “With these donations, we seek to partner with local organizations that are already supporting the community and help them fulfill their mission. Together we are a better, stronger, and healthier community.”
