Maryland Physicians Care Partners with Ascension Saint Agnes to Host Community Diabetes Fair

The Maryland Physicians Care (MPC) Community Engagement Team and Ascension Saint Agnes hosted a community Diabetes Fair, providing healthy meals, diabetes screenings, and educational resources to local families.
The event featured a live chef demonstration and a turkey-dinner giveaway drawing, providing four families a full turkey dinner. The fair helped address food insecurity in the community while raising awareness of diabetes prevention and healthy living.

Community partners played a key role in supporting the event. The Ascension Saint Agnes Diabetes Education Program was on site, offering diabetes screenings and education to participants. First Fruits Farm also supported the fair by providing fresh fruits, vegetables, and other food items for the community. Additional partners included Maryland DHS, Centro SOL, The Food Project, Stand Up Wireless, the Maryland Food Bank, and Advocate Support Services, along with MPC’s Population Health and Prevention and Wellness departments.
The event highlighted the power of collaboration and a shared commitment to supporting Maryland families through accessible health education and meaningful community engagement.
