Maryland Physicians Care Partners with The Food Project to Host Influencer Day Highlighting Community Health and Food Access
Maryland Physicians Care (MPC) joined local food and culture influencers, media, and community partners for Food Project Influencer Day, an immersive event showcasing how The Food Project is expanding access to healthy, affordable food across Baltimore.
Held just days before Thanksgiving at The Food Project’s Baltimore campus, the event underscored the vital role that equitable food access plays during the holiday season and throughout the year. Guests explored the organization’s community kitchens, learned about workforce training programs, saw food distribution areas, and ate at The Grind, The Food Project’s on-site restaurant. Attendees also visited MPC’s office within the facility, highlighting the health plan’s sustained investment in food equity as a critical component of social determinants of health.
MPC provides ongoing funding and support to The Food Project, helping advance initiatives centered on nutrition education, food access, and employment pathways. MPC views food access as foundational to long-term health outcomes, making partnerships like this essential to its community investment strategy.
