The Baltimore City Department of Planning’s Food Policy and Planning Division (FPP) is proud to announce a new partnership with Maryland Physicians Care (MPC) to advance the goals of B’more Fresh, FPP’s Online SNAP initiative to improve healthy food access, nutrition, and digital equity across Baltimore.

B’more Fresh helps address food insecurity by enabling SNAP recipients to stretch their benefits further—participants can spend just $5 to receive $30 each month in fruit and vegetable vouchers, along with coverage for grocery delivery.

This collaboration expands B’more Fresh’s network of partners working to ensure that all Baltimore residents, regardless of income or neighborhood, have access to healthy, affordable, and culturally relevant foods. Through this partnership, MPC will help educate patients and communities about local healthy food resources, integrate food access referrals into patient care, and support outreach to neighborhoods most impacted by food insecurity. B’more Fresh is already working with Safeway and Amazon to increase the availability and affordability of healthy foods across Baltimore. These collaborations enable innovative strategies like online grocery delivery with SNAP, in-store promotions, and community engagement efforts to make nutritious foods
more accessible.

“Our collaboration with Maryland Physicians Care is an important step in connecting health care with healthy food access,” said Lindsay Adams, Deputy Director of Food Policy at the Baltimore City Department of Planning. “Together with our grocery and delivery partners, we’re building a stronger, more equitable food system in Baltimore.”

The B’more Fresh initiative is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and will continue through 2026.
