Contracting Information
Thank you for your interest in being a Maryland Physicians Care network provider! Because of the number of requests we receive, we use a set of criteria to help us make contracting decisions. These factors are:
- Geographic needs based on federal and state requirements
- Existing provider coverage in the targeted area
- Membership requirements for a particular specialty
- Member accessibility
If you are interested in a contract with us, please submit a non-binding letter of intent to:
Maryland Physicians Care
Attn: Provider Relations Department
509 Progress Drive, Suite 117
Linthicum, MD 21090-2256
Once we receive your letter of intent, the next step is to compare our membership's needs with current network availability. The following information is obtained:
- Board certification
- Languages spoken
- Office location
- Network assessments (only for providers not joining a contract group)
If the assessment indicates a need for an additional provider, we will conduct a comprehensive site visit and medical chart review. In addition, we will discuss Maryland Physicians Care's participation requirements, policies and provider obligations with you.
After the site audit is approved, credentialing is initiated. Maryland Physicians Care's credentials providers according to nationally recognized standards.
