IMPORTANT PROVIDER NOTIFICATION REGARDING FINAL ROUND OF
LIVE BUPRENORPHINE TRAININGS AND PROVIDER PRACTICE SURVEY
The Center for a Healthy Maryland is an affiliate of MedChi and is offering its
final round of live certification, clinical management and practice management trainings
to equip physicians with the information and tools to provide officebased treatment
for opioid addition within their patient population. In summary, the following trainings
are available for registration. Please refer to the attachments for additional information
regarding course registration and learning objectives. You may also visit

Buprenorphine 8 Hr Certification Course Required to
Dispense or Prescribe
This program satisfies the Drug Abuse Treatment Act (DATA) 2000 training requirement
for physicians to qualify to dispense or prescribe specifically approved Schedule
III, IV and V narcotic medications for the treatment of opioid addiction in office-based
settings.
Course Fees: $90 Physicians $75 APA or MedChi Members $50 Non-physicians $150 Out-of-state
Physicians No Fee for Residents *Maryland physicians are eligible to be reimbursed
for course fees*

A provider survey "to assess current clinical practice, , and resources needed by
physicians in Maryland for providing substance abuse management and officebased
treatment of opioid dependence with buprenorphine" is also attached for your review
and completion. Survey responses will remain confidential and should be faxed to
